Sodbury Players was founded in 1946 in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire. In 1996 we celebrated our 50th anniversary. We are affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA). We are members of Avon Association of Drama (AAD).

We currently perform 3 main productions each year being a pantomime in January, a spring production in May and an autumn production in September. In addition to this we enter a one act play into the All England One Act Play Festival each year which starts in February.

Nominations in the year 2000

Sodbury Players were delighted to hear that we received several nominations for Rose Bowl awards for several of our productions during the past season. Unfortunately we did not manage to win any trophies.

Well done to everyone concerned and for all our supporters.

NODA Adjudicators Award

Sodbury Players were delighted to hear that we won the Regional Excellence Award (region 2B) for 2000 for our production of "Frankenstein the Panto" produced in January 2000. We received a certificate presented by Ian Wells, the National President, at the South West Area Annual General Meeting on 3rd September at Bicton College of Agriculture.

Raft Race 2001

The Portishead Lifeboat Trust annual raft race. This took place on Sunday 8th July at the Portishead Lakegrounds and we WON! Here are a few of the photos, thanks to all who turned up to support!

Treasure Hunt 2001

On Sunday August 19th we held our annual Treasure Hunt, The team standings and winners photos are here.

Bonfire Party 2001

On Sunday 28th October we held our bonfire party and pumpkin carving competition. This event was extermely well attended with over 60 people. As usual, some photos were taken.
