ST.GEORGE AND THE DRAGON

This year’s Big Lunch event coincides with the 800th anniversary of Chipping Sodbury. The Big Lunch will be medieval themed and we will be performing a traditional mummers play: St.George and The Dragon.

​

The earliest evidence of mummers' plays as they are known today is from the mid to late 18th century.

Mummers' Plays are folk plays performed by troupes of amateur actors, traditionally all male.
